Call for Research Proposals in Medical Mycology
ResearcFT~proposals are invited from investigators/scientists activel; engaged in the field of Medical Mycology preferably in the form of multicentre consortium. The invasive fungal strains and infections prevalent in Indi; include (a) Candida tropicaiis and other Candida spp. that cause bloo< stream infections, (b) Aspergillus flavus and other Aspergillus spp. involvet in fungal rhinosinusitis, ABPA and endophthalmitis, (c) Zygomycetes an( (d) Cryptococcus neoformans. The major thrust areas are:
• Molecular Epidemiology
• Pathogenesis and mechanism of fungal disease
• Diagnostics for invasive fungal infections
• Drug development
