American Investment Training, Inc. - Series 11 Course Preparation Materials - Buy Online

The Assistant Representative Exam also known as the Series 11 exam is for those individuals who want to work in the stock market industry but do not wish to become licensed brokers. Even so, it highly recommended that applicants obtain study materials and attend training courses before attempting to take the exam. Course materials as well as preparation guides for the Series 11 exam are readily available online.

The Series 11 exam is also known by the title Assistant Representative Order Processing exam, which sheds a little more light on the duties of those working in this area. Generally speaking, those who have passed the Series 11 exam will be able to take orders from customers, but are prohibited from conducting many other tasks, which is why it is important to have securities training before taking the exam.

To be eligible for the exam you must be sponsored by a brokerage firm.

The exam is made up of 50 multiple choice questions and candidates have 50 minutes to finish the test. A grade of 70% is passing. Because of the short test time, it is imperative that candidates obtain the appropriate course materials and preparation guides. Course books and CDs can be found either online or at larger libraries.

The Series 11 exam is closed book exam and personal calculators are not allowed into the testing area. Calculators will be provided by the testing facility.

By studying the appropriate study materials candidates should be able to work through the exam questions which breakdown into:

15 exam questions concerning Equity, Debt and Other Securities
10 questions concerning Customer Accounts
20 questions concerning Markets and Order Processing
5 questions concerning various Regulations

Candidates for the test should use their study guides and securities training opportunities to gain as much knowledge as possible on the various types of securities. In addition, they should spend time learning about various markets. When possible they should use course books and CDs that explain the larger stock markets. This would include the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, the London Stock Exchange, as well as the Nikkei.

Training courses and preparation guides should also inform candidates on the issues involved with taking customer orders and processing those orders. This should include giving quotes to customers, taking customer orders, the order processing system, and properly completing customer account forms.

Lastly, course materials and study guides should inform candidates of the various securities regulations. It is important to understand the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) regulations.

Job opportunities in this field are generally good because brokerage firms need qualified personnel to take orders and handle customer account processing duties.
