The University Grants Commission invites applications for the fellowship / Scholarship for the year 2006 of the new schemes for the benefits of SC/ST candidates as follows:-
A. Research Associateship for SC/ST Candidates :
The Scheme has been initiated keeping in view the social background of the candidates for the deprived section of the society and to provide them opportunity to
undertake advanced studies adn research in Sciences, Engineering & Technology , Humanities and Social Sciences in Indian
Universities & Colleges. The objective of this award is to provide an opportunity to SC/ST candidates to undertake Postdoctoral Research in Science , Engineering & Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences at
Indian Universities and Colleges.
The candidate should have a doctorate degree in the relevant subject preferably with published research work to their credit and evidence of independent research work. The upper age for male applicatns is 50 as on 1 July, of the year and 55 years in the case of female candidates. .
The total tenure is 5 (five ) years ( i.e. non extendable)
The value of the Associateship shall be Rs.12000/- p. m. ( fixed for five years ie. non extendable ) with an annual contingency grant of 30000/- p.a. and Departmental Assistnace @ 10% of Associateship to the host Institution & H.R.A. ( as per rule)
The Applicatioins in the prescribed format given below may be sent to the Joint Secretary (SA), University Grants Commission, UGC Block , Delhi UNiversity, South Campus Benito Juarez Marg, New Delhi - 110 021 duly forwarded through the University / Institute / College where the fellow desire to
undertake research work within one month from the date of issue of advertisement ( non extendable ).
The selection will be made on thebasis of the recommendations of the Expert Committee constituted by the Commission. The decision of the Commission shall be final. Direct & Incomplete applications will not be entertained. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification.
