Architectural History and Historic Preservation Division (AHHP)

Internship Program


Purpose: Annual program to provide a prearranged, structured learning experience, under the guidance of the director of the Division. Interns focus on primary research materials to study specific preservation issues in the Smithsonian's architectural history.

Field of Study: Art history, architectural history, historic preservation, and related fields.

Eligibility: Graduate and undergraduate students who have completed some coursework in history of art or architectural history. There is no citizenship requirement for interns.

Award: Interns work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks and are paid $2,000, pending availability of funding.
