Applications are invited for five Birbal Sahni Research Associateships and nine Birbal Sahni Research Scholarships tenable
at ehe Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Age limit
Birbal Sahni Research Associateships : Msc., in Botany / Geology / relevant discipline with high academic attainments both at graduate and postgraduate levels.
Three years research experience in appropriate discipline . OR Ph.D in appropriate discipline.
Age Limit : 32 years as on April 01, 2006 . A relaxation of age-limit up to 3 years may be considered by the competent authority in the case of applicants whoa re suitable qualified and have research training / teaching experience in relevant discipline . In the case of applicatns of Scheduled caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Backward classes, age relaxation up to 5 years may be allowed.
Birbal Sahni Research Scholarship : M.Sc., in Botany / Geology / relevant discipline with high academic attainments both at graduate and postgraduate levels.
Age Limit : 28 years as on April 01,2006, A relaxation of age-limit up to 3 years may be considered by the competent authority in the case of applicants who are suitably qualified and have research training / teaching experience in relevant discipline. In the case of applicants of Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Backward Classes , age relaxation up to 5 years may be allowed.

The fields of palaobotany and allied disciplines such as Precambrian Papaeobiology, Papaezoic Palaeobotany / Palynology, Mesozoic Palaeobotany / Palynology, Cenozoic Palaeobotany / palynology , Quaternary Palynology / Palaeoclimate, Marine Micropalaeontology / Micropapaeobotany, Coal Petrology / Souce Rock Evaluation Industrial Palynology ( Hydrocarbon Exploration) and Archaeobotany / Dendrochronology.
