CSIR Offers Opportunities to Bright Young Engineering Graduates to be Groomed into Future Technology Leaders for the Nation
The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is the largest publicly funded R&D organization in India covering practically the entire spectrum of scientific and industrial R&D ranging from aerospace to ocean exploration, from micro-electronics to structural and environmental engineering, from smart materials to mechatronics, and from petrochemicals to synthetic biology.
CSIR is now introducing a two-year-full-time residential Post-Graduate Research Training Programme in Engineering under the Quick Hire Scientist (QHS) Scheme in the following cutting-edge technological areas:
Advanced Semiconductor Electronics : Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI), Pilani
High Power Microwave Devices & Systems Engineering : Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI), Pilani
Advanced instrumentation Engineering :Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh
Mechatronics Materials Resource Engineering : Central Mechanical Engineering Research institute (CMERI), Durgapur
Materials Resource Engineering :Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubanesvvar
Advanced Petroleum Science and Technology : Indian institute of Petroleum (IIP), Dehradun
Engineering of Structures : Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC), Chennai
Environmental Systems, Modeling & Optimization :National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur
Essential Qualification: All Engineering Graduates, in
any discipline, with high first class with minimum 70%
marks or 7.0 CGPAare eligible
Desirable Qualification: A valid GATE score will be an
added advantage.
The selected candidate will be designated as Scientist
Trainee under QHS Scheme and will get consolidated
emoluments of Rs. 25,000 per month and other benefits
as applicable to the QHS of CSIR.
This training programme is a four-semester programme.
Tution fee for the programme is Rs. 48,000 per annum.
Reservation and relaxation will be as per Government of
India rules.
On completion of the research programme with
distinction, the candidates will be considered by
CSIR for absorption in CSIR as Scientists in
Pay Band-3 of the Government of India (Scale
Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600 plus
other allowances, as applicable).
Under this programme, CSIR would select young, bright B.E./B.Tech. graduates and groom them into research-ready scientists/engineers for taking up challenging positions in CSIR. The selected candidates will be trained on exciting live projects.
