A maximum of 20 Research Associates are awarded under KSKRA every year. The candiates selected for the award are appointed as Research Associate (RA) for an initial period of one year, which is extended by one more year based on performance during the first year. Associates are given the opportunity to work on programmes relevant to the DAE mandate in one of the following advanced research centres of the Department.
1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre(BARC), Mumbai
2. Indira Gandhi Centre For Atomic Research(IGCAR), Kalpakkam
3. Centre for Advanced Technology(CAT), Indore
4. Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre(VECC), Calcutta
