Admission Notification 2008-09
Applications are invited for submission to the following courses at the University.





MA:

(1) Hindi (Language-Technology), (2) Hindi (Comparative Literature), (3) Hindi (Translation-Technology), (4) Ahimsa and Peace Studies, (5) Women Studies, (6) Mass Media and Communication, (7) Dalit and Tribal Studies, (8) Folk Drama and Folk Music, (9) Indian Culture and Tourism.

Eligibility: Candidate should have 50% marks at graduation level in any discipline from a recognized institution. (For SC/ST candidates 45%).

Desirable: For MA (Translation Technology) candidates should have knowledge of English/ Hindi language and for MA (Folk Drama and Folk Music) experience in folk theatre/ music. For MA in Indian culture and tourism academic qualification in History, Art’s or tourism.

MBA:

Eligibility: Candidate should have 50% marks at graduation level in any discipline from a recognized institution. (For SC/ST candidates 45%).

M. Phil:

(1) Hindi (Language-Technology), (2) Hindi (Comparative Literature), (3) Hindi (Translation-Technology), (4) Ahimsa and peace Studies, (5) Women Studies, (6) Mass Media and Communication (subject to availability of Faculty).

For admission to the Ph. D courses, the candidate should have 55% marks in the concerned Master Degree. (For SC/ST candidates 50%).

Desirable: M. Phil in similar discipline/ JRF/ NET/ SLET (till June 2002)/ any other national level examination approved by UGC.

Two-Year Diploma Course:

(1) Hindi-Chinese translation, (2) Hindi-Spanish translation, (3) Hindi-French Translation (4) Hindi-Japanese translation.

Eligibility: 10+2 or Equivalent passed.

One Year Diploma Course: In Sanskrit Language

Eligibility: 10+2 or Equivalent passed.

Note:

1) Candidate should have Working knowledge of Hindi
2) Medium of instruction for all the above course will be Hindi
3) Students in their final year of graduation can also apply. For SC/ST, Physically Handicapped, Kashmiri Migrants, Foreign Students and Students from northeastern states reservations and relaxations and relaxation will be given as per University rules.



Courses for Foreign Students:

1) BA Hindi Language, Literature and culture (Three years)
2) Diploma in Hindi as an International Language (One year)

For admission in the above-mentioned courses except Ph. D the University will conduct a written test at various centres (Wardha, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bhopal, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangaluru, and Guwahati). All selected candidates in written test will be called for interview at Wardha. If the Number of applicants is less than the required, at any Centre chosen by the candidate, the candidates of such centres have to appear for the written test at Wardha. Candidates will not be paid TA/DA for appearing in written examination. Candidates selected on the basis of written examination only. There will not be any written test for admission to Diploma Courses.

• Date of obtaining the Prospectus and application form (on all working days Monday to Friday): From 31 March, 2008

• Last date for submission of the application form: 10 May 2008

• Date of Written Examination (MA, MBA & M. Phil Courses): 08 June, 2008

• Date of Interview (MA, MBA & M. Phil Courses): 06 July, 2008

• Date of Written Examination (Ph. D): 03 August 2008

(Date of interview for Ph. D will be intimated to successful candidates)

The prospectus along with application form may be obtained by sending a demand draft of Rs.250/- (including postal expenses) payable at ‘Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya , Wardha’ at the address given below or by paying Rs.200/- in cash. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST & Physically challenged categories may obtain the form by sending a demand draft of Rs.150/- (including postal expenses) or by paying in cash Rs.100/- on University cash counter. Candidates applying for more than one course should submit separate demand draft for each course. The application form is also available on University Website: www.hindivishwa.org While submitting the downloaded application form, candidates belonging to the general category should enclose a demand draft of Rs.200/- and candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST & Physically challenged only) should enclose a DD of Rs.100/- only.
