National Power Training Institute - ADMISSION NOTICE POST DIPLOMA IN THERMAL POWER PLANT ENGINEERING 2009
WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN? The rrtain aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment of the Indian Power Sector. The course improves and enhances the knowledge and skill of the diploma engineers sponsored by the Power Utilities.
ABOUT THE COURSE : The course is of one year duration (2 Semesters) and covers various aspects of Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Plants. Formal coaching shall be held at Regional Institute of NPTI, located at Badarpur, New Delhi. On-job training is conducted at the nearby Power Stations. The course authorises the Diploma Holders to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated substation.
ELIGIBILITY : Three years Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronics/Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Technical Board with minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks.
SELECTION PROCEDURE : Merit (% of marks in diploma)
AGE LIMIT: 27 YEARS AS ON 05.01.2009. No age limit for sponsored candidates
TOTAL SEATS : 60 (Sixty) Reservation for SC/ST/ Physically Handicapped/OBC and other categories is applicable as per Govt, norms. The seats may be increased as per the discretion of NPTI. 25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from power utilities. PLACEMENT: NPTI maintains close linkage with power utilities for employment of these trained engineers. The candidates who are placed through campus efforts shall have to pay placement charges as applicable. However NPTI does not have any commitment for placements. Sponsored candidates shall not be allowed for campus placements.

FEES : For non-sponsored candidates Rs. 60,000/- (in two instalments). For candidates sponsored from SEBs/ PSUs/Private Utilities Rs. 1,00,000/- payable in lumpsum at the time of admission. There is no fee concession for any category of candidates. Rs. 3100/- as transport charges for visits to power stations and industries and refundable security of Rs. 2000/- are payable separately at the time of admission.
