NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR THE ORTHOPAEDICALLY HANDICAPPED

In pursuance of the Policy Framework for promotion of higher education and research in the area of disability rehabilitation as announced by Ministry of SJ&E, NIOH invites proposals from eligible candidates to pursue the research in the areas under given. Four fellowships (JRF) will be offered to selected candidates undertaking research in priority areas selected by this institute.The finiancial assistance to the fellow shall be given as below. Qualification / Eligibility for fellowship: 1. Graduate degree in Engineering discipline & PG degree in Science / Social Sciences / Rehab Sciences. 1 & 2nd year JRF : Rs.8000/- JRF subsequent yrs/SRF : Rs.9000/- . 2. In medical & Engineering subject MBBS, M.E.,M.Tech or BE / B.Tech or equivalent with 2 years experience. 1 & 2nd year JRF : Rs.9500/- JRF subsequent yrs/SRF : Rs.10000/- and other benefits shall be as per rules applicable to similar positions under UGC/CSIR, subject to fullfilment of other criteria. Our priority areas of research are: 1.Community oriented services / technologhy for rehabilitation. 2.The cost effective methods in rehabilitation services. (medical / surgical / theraphy / socio-economics) 3.I.T.based rehabilitation service. 4.Development of Instant fit/off shelf prosthesis / orthosis. 5.Disability rehabilitation specific to adolescent girl/geriatric population. 6.Childhoos disability. Candidates who have already secured / seeking admission to PG / doctoral program are eligible to apply.The research work will have to be performed under our supervision as guide / co-guide.
