REHABILITATION COUNCIL OF INDIA- All India Online Aptitude Test for Admission to Diploma Courses in Special Education
Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), a statutory body under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt, of India, is entrusted with the responsibility of standardizing and monitoring of training programmes in the field of Rehabilitation and Special Education. Applications are invited for admission to 1. Diploma in Education - Special Education (Deaf & Hard of Hearing), 2. Diploma in Education - Special Education (Mental Retardation), 3. Diploma in Education - Special Education (Visual Impairment) for the academic session 2012-13 through an All India Online Aptitude Test. These Courses are offered by RCI recognized institutions to train special teachers to teach children with special needs. The schedule of important dates is given below:

Last date for Online Registration : 21st Feb , 2012 ( 05.00 PM)
Last date for receiving filled in Application Forms by post : 28th Feb, 2012
Date of Examination (Examination Window) : 7th April to 30th April , 2012
Note: Candidates may avail the facility of Mock/Sample Online Test 30 minutes before the commencement of Exam. The demand for trained special teachers has increased considerably by a landmark judgment by the Hon'ble Delhi High Court for appointment of special teachers in each school of NCT of Delhi and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) granting approval to B.Ed. Special Education and D.Ed. Special Education qualifications for appointment of elementary teachers in general schools. Some of the States like NCT of Delhi, Rajasthan, etc. have already started the process of recruitment of special teachers.
