"At the heart of a growing America" Agricultural Scholarship Program
1st Farm Credit Services is pleased to offer our "At the heart of a growing America" Agricultural Scholarship Program. These scholarships are designed to assist deserving high school seniors to further their education in an agriculture or agriculture-related field of study, and to help promote agriculture as a growing field of career opportunities.
Program
Provides up to 23 individual $750 scholarships within 1st Farm Credit Services' 42-county service territory.
Eligibility
Graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into an agriculture or agriculture-related curriculum at a university, college or community college and either reside or attend high school within 1st Farm Credit Services’ service territory.* Children or grandchildren of current 1st Farm Credit Services directors or employees are not eligible to apply.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement, community and agricultural youth organization involvement and a brief essay. Applications will be judged by a panel of independent agribusiness, education, youth and farm organization leaders.
Application Information
Qualifying students may obtain an application online (pdf or Word format), or through a local 1st Farm Credit Services office. Applications also may be available through the high school guidance counselor, Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter advisor or county 4-H office.
Application deadline is April 1, 2007. Please return completed application, typed essays, high school transcripts, and a recent photo (head and shoulder preferred -- with name printed on back) to a local 1st Farm Credit Services office, or mail directly to:
