Admission Notice

 

Applications are invited for admission to the course of two years Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology, Session 2007 ? 09

 

Qualification:

 

Master’s Degree in Ancient or Medieval Indian History / Archaeology / Anthropology / Indian Classical language such as Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Arabic or Persian or in Geology with knowledge of Pleistocene age from a recognized University or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks (50% in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates).

 

Age:

 

The upper age limit is 25 years. Age will be reckoned as on 31.7.2007. Relaxation in upper age limit will be allowed in respect of SC/ST/OBC and in-service candidates as per rules.

 

Stipend:

 

During the entire period of two years course, not I service students would be entitled to a stipend of Rs.1500/- per month, in addition to second class railway or ordinary bus fares as traveling allowances for attending outstation training camps.

 

Prospectus:

 

The prospectus can be obtained from the office of the Director, Institute of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India, Red Fort, Delhi ? 110 006 against Demand Draft of Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty only) in favour of Director, Institute of Archaeology payable at New Delhi along with a self addressed envelope (size 32 cms ? 22 cms or A4 size). The candidate should write his / her name, address (in capital letter) on the back of the Demand Draft. The last date of accepting request for Prospectus is 14th July 2007.
