IWPC - Indian Women's Press Corps Short Story Competition

New Delhi-based Indian Women's Press Corps is seek?ing entries from women writers for its short' story competition.

The theme of the competition, the second one to be announced by the organisation for women journalists, is "Crossroads". According to a press note by IWPC, the length of the story should not exceed 3,000 words.

Only original Each entry should be an original, unpublished work which is not under consideration for any other competition at the time of submission of the short story.

The entries should be submitted in English, "and IWPC reserves the right to publish a selection of the entries in an anthology." Two copies of each entiy should be submitted, typewritten in double space. The name, address and phone number of the author should be written on a separate sheet of paper.

The competition will be open to all women writers with the exception of office bearers and managing committee members of the IWPC and their immediate families. The three best entries will be awarded with cash prizes of Rs.25,000, Rs.15,000 and Rs.10,000 each.

Entries for the short story competition should be sent in a sealed envelope addressed to Indian Women's Press Corps, 'Short Story Competition), 5 Windsor Place, New Delhi-10001.

The note says a panel of eminent writers and critics will form a three-member jury that will judge the entries.

The last day for submission of entries is December 0,2012.
