Mindful Leadership Competition

The University of Dayton (UD) and Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) are dedicated to creating ethical, mindful leaders aware of the global forces around them. The competition ?Mindful Leadership? provides a platform for students to contribute meaningful ideas and initiatives to combat challenges faced in today?s business environment. UD and LIBA together bring this opportunity to Indian students to encourage and motivate them to be mindful leaders who are much more aware of the real-time issues around them. This competition will appeal to all students with an interest to create change, protect human rights, care for the environment, enforce global labour standards and anti-corruption practices.

Competition purpose

* To develop students? understanding of what it means to be an ethical, mindful leader.

* To showcase young people?s skills in tackling leadership responsibilities in an ever-changing global economic environment.

*To understand that successful business means more than profits.

* To support and uphold human rights, labour standards, environment responsibility and work against anti-corruption.

Competition Criteria

Guidelines for the competition ?Mindful Leadership? is based on United Nations Global Compact?s core values in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment, and anti-corruption. ?Mindful Leadership? is open to all students between the age group on 18 and 25 years. Participants must have completed 18 years of age as of February 2008 and have a valid Indian passport. The participant must be a full-time bonafide student of an accredited education institute, college, or University.

Entries should be in English and have to be e-mailed as well as posted to LIBA, Chennai. E-mail id and postal address are provided below. Paper presentations should not exceed 15 pages and must be printed in Times New Roman font of size 12 with double spacing between lines. The 15 pages will be inclusive of visuals and images.

Judging and Awards

Judging criteria will include understanding the competition purpose ?Mindful Leadership? and the Global Compact's ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. The decision of the judges will be final. The judging panel will comprise eminent people from the academia and the industry. The short listed participants will be asked to present in person before the final two winners are announced.
