Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) and EducationWorlcl -The Human Development Magazine (estb. 1999) - presents the Tata Consultancy Services -EducationWorld Teachers Award 2009 which acknowledge and salutes the men and women behind one of the most influential professions in the world -Teaching. We are looking for teachers who have impressed you with their creative approach to teaching, who arouse curiosity, stimulate thinking and encourage healthy debate.

This annual award programme aims to celebrate outstanding teachers and bring them to the forefront of the academic community, The purpose of these annual awards is to encourage teachers across the country to raise teaching-learning standards.

Eligibility:

Entry is open to all primary and secondary schools/junior college teachers (English or vernacular medium) countrywide. Nominations can be made by principals, school boards, fellow teachers and parents. Self nominations are also welcome.

National winners will be declared in two categories: Primary: Classes I-I1V; Secondary: Classes VIl-XII.

Process

To nominate a teacher, visit us at www.tcs.com/teachersaward, complete and submit the form on-line. All forms to be directly mailed to EducationWorld.

Nominations received before October 12 will be scrutinized and short-listed by IL&FS Education andTechnology Services Ltd - India's largest school curriculum and content development company. Subsequently eight shortlisted finalists will be interviewed by a panel of distinguished judges comprising representatives from Tata Consultancy Services, EducationWorld and IL&FS.
