Introduction to CMC - Christian Medical College

Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore occupies a prominent place in the health care education in our country since 1900 and it is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr MCR Medical University. CMC conducts common joint entrance test for MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing, Medical Lab Technology, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, and Bachelor of Physiotherapy courses.

A candidate must have passed 10+2 or Higher Secondary Examination (Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English as compulsory subjects). A candidate for admission to MBBS course "must have secured 60%* marks in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology taken together) and have an aggregate of 140/200 in these subjects, both at qualifying and competitive examinations and passed in English". 60% in each and 1 30/200 aggregate for BC, 55% in each and 120/200 aggregate for MBC, and 40% in each and 80/200 aggregate for SC/ST candidates. A candidate must have completed 1 7 years of age on 31 December of the year of entrance examination. A candidate can appear maximum of 3 times in written test and a maximum of 2 times in interview for MBBS entrance exam of CMC Vellore.

The examination is of 2 hour duration consisting of multiple choice questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Ability. Though no syllabus has been prescribed by CMC Vellore but the paper is of 10+2 level.
