What Is SFURTI Program

The Short Term Training Programme (STTP)-SFURTI, launched by the AICTE in collaboration with the Indian Micro Enterprises Development Foundation (IMEDF), provides financial aid to institutions for specialized faculty and student training. The program is designed to bridge the gap between technical education and the MSME sector, empowering participants to apply their research toward the growth of small-scale businesses. As a nodal agency for the Ministry of MSME, IMEDF acts as a “Special Purpose Vehicle” to accelerate micro-enterprise development and cluster regeneration.

Objectives SFURTI Program

SFURTI Framework: Master the core principles of the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries.

Project Design: Train faculty and students to identify opportunities and draft compelling project proposals.

Report Development: Sharpen technical skills to produce viable, high-quality Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).

Resource Innovation: Master resource management strategies that integrate technological and social innovation.

Sustainable Impact: Develop deep expertise in project management to address rural economic challenges and evaluate social, economic, and environmental outcomes.

Benefits in SFURTI Program

Financial Assistance and Grant Management: A financial ceiling of ₹4,00,000 is established for participating institutions. The total sanctioned grant shall be disbursed to the Indian Micro Enterprises Development Foundation (IMEDF) following the successful execution of the STTP-SFURTI program.

Final settlement of the institution’s expenses is contingent upon the IMEDF submitting a verified Utilization Certificate and an itemized expenditure statement. This must be accompanied by the requisite administrative records, including participant feedback, program proceedings, and a formal completion report.
