Dr.S.Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages) for the year 2008-2009

The University Grants Commission invites applications for the awarcKof Dr. S.Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages) for the year 2008-2009.

Candidates preferably below 35 years of age who have either received a Ph.D. degree or submitted their Ph.D. thesis are eligible to applyjt is necessary that candidate identify mentor for their postdoctoral research work and obtain his/her consent for "the guidance. When, selected, those holdings the Ph.D. degree will he directly awarded tho PDF. Those whose nave submitted their Ph.D. thesis may be awarded a "bridging fellowship" (with marginally reduced stipend) until they; are formally awarded the Ph.D. degree.

The fellowship will be awarded on a yearly basis with renewal/termination i clause on the basis of PDF mentor/peer group appraisal. However, the maximum duration of the PDF award would be 3 years (Non-extendable). Candidate should give an undertaking in Annexure-I while availing the award, along with the endorsement of the research mentor that they would stay in place for a minimum of six months.

The objective of this award is to provide an opportunity to carry out the advanced studies and independent research in Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages) in Indian Universities and Colleges recognized under UGC Act 2 (f) and 12 (B.).

The applications in triplicate in the prescribed format given below, may be sen? to the JOINT SECRETARY, (SELECTION & AWARDS BUREAU), UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION, DELHI UNIVERSITY, SOUTH CAMPUS, BENITO JUAREZ MARG, NEW DELHI - 110021 duly forwarded through the University/Institution where the fellow desires to undertake research work within one month from the date of issue of advertisement. The selection will be made on the basis of merit and on the recommendations of the Selection Committee, constituted by the Commission. The decision of he Commission shall be final. Direct & incomplete applications will not be Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification.
