American Research Institute in Turkey (ARIT) Kress/ARIT Predoctoral Fellowship in Archaeology and the History of Art

Purpose: Annual award to support doctoral candidates undertaking research in Turkey in the history or art, history of architecture, and archaeology. The program is supported by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.

Field of Study: Archaeology, history of art, history of architecture, and related fields.

ligibility: An applicant must be either a U.S. citizen or a registered doctoral student in good standing at a U.S. or Canadian school. Applicants should have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. degree except for the dissertation. Fellowship applicants are responsible for obtaining research permission from the Turkish government. It takes 6 months or longer to obtain such permission and applicants should plan accordingly. Permit applications are available at www.turkishembassy.org

Award: A maximum award of $15,000 for one academic year. Awards for shorter periods of time may be arranged.
