About Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) Exam

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized test commonly used for admissions into graduate business programs, such as MBA (Master of Business Administration) programs. It assesses a candidate’s analytical, quantitative, verbal, and writing skills to determine their readiness for advanced study in business and management.

Here are some key points about the GMAT examination:

Test Sections: The GMAT consists of four main sections: Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), Integrated Reasoning (IR), Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning. The AWA section requires candidates to analyze an argument and write an essay. The IR section assesses data analysis and interpretation skills. The Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning sections evaluate problem-solving and critical reasoning abilities in their respective domains.

Test Format: The GMAT is a computer-adaptive test, which means that the difficulty level of the questions adapts to a candidate’s performance. Each section is scored separately, and the next question’s difficulty depends on the candidate’s responses to previous questions.

Scoring System: The GMAT scores are reported on a scale of 200 to 800. The Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning sections are each scored on this scale, and the scores are then combined to give the overall score. The AWA section is scored separately on a scale of 0 to 6, and the IR section is scored on a scale of 1 to 8.
