About Government of Tamil Nadu Anna Medal for Gallantry Award

The Government of Tamil Nadu has instituted the Anna Medal for Gallantry for Civilians/Government Servants for their conspicuous acts of gallantry in saving life, property etc. The applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu along are eligible for getting this award. Anna Medals for Gallantry awarded in a year shall be on an average of six medals, with three (3) medals for general public and three (3) for Government servants. There is no age limit for receipt of the medal. This award consists cheque for Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh only), a medal and a citation.

The Nominations are called for Anna Medal for Gallantry’ award for the year 2022. The nominations accompanying relevant documents for the conspicuous acts of gallantry should reach the Secretary to Government, Public (General-I) Department, Secretariat, Chennai-600009 along with the recommendation of the District Collector concerned or through online mode https://awards.tn.gov.in on or before 15.12.2021. The applications which are not received within the prescribed time will be rejected. The awardees will be ed by the ion committee constituted by the Govt. The medal will be presented to the awardee by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January, 2022.
