The “Kabir Puraskar” award for the act of social and communal harmony will be presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu every year during Republic Day Celebrations. Any Indian citizen residing in Tamil Nadu (other than members of the Armed Forces, Police Forces and Members recognized Fire Services, Government Servants, if the act performed by them falls in the sphere of their duty) are eligible for this award. The award is given for act of physical/moral courage and humanity exhibited by members of one community in saving the lives and properties of the members of another community during communal riots. This award consisting of three categories and the cheque for Rs.20,000/-, Rs.10,000/- and Rs.5,000/- with citation will be given to three persons respectively.

The eligible nominations for “Kabir Puraskar” award for the year 2022 accompanying relevant documents through the District Collector concerned or through online https://awards/tn.gov.in/ should reach the Secretary to Government, Public Department, Secretariat, Chennai-9 on or before 15.12.2021. The applications which are not received within the prescribed time will be rejected. The awardees will be ed by the ion committee constituted for this award. The medal will be presented to the awardee by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January 2022.
