The Government of Tamil Nadu has instituted an award by name “KOTTAI AMEER COMMUNAL HARMONY AWARD” and it is presented to a person who has done outstanding services to promote Communal harmony in Tamil Nadu by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations. The award consists of a medal, a Demand Draft of Rs.25,000/- and a Certificate. Those who have done outstanding services to promote Communal harmony are eligible for this award and there is no age limit for the award.

The nominations are called for ‘Kottai Ameer Communal Harmony Award’ for the year, 2022. The nominations accompanying relevant documents for the outstanding services to promote Communal harmony should reach the Secretary to Government, Public Department, Secretariat, Chennai-600 009 along with the recommendations of the District Collector concerned or through online mode https://awards.tn.gov.in on or before 15.12.2021. The applications which are not received within the prescribed time will be rejected. The awardee will be ed by the Selection Committee constituted by the Government. The medal will be presented to the awardee by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January, 2022.
