Hindustan Times has its roots in the Indian Independence Movement, with the newspaper being inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in September 1924. The country awoke to this nostalgic headline on HT’s front page on August 15, 1947—‘INDIA INDEPENDENT: BRITISH RULE ENDS’.

Hindustan celebrates 75 years of hard-earned independence by encouraging the young generation to showcase their love for our beloved country through art, photography and short video contests on the theme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. All entries will be judged by an eminent jury panel, and winners stand to win prizes worth ₹5 lakh!
