ISRO has announced the launch of “Chandrayaan – 3” for mid-July this year and we know that you are as excited about it as we are!

To celebrate the upcoming launch, the Cosmology Education and Research Training Center (COSMOS), Mysuru and the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru is organizing a video contest on the Moon. This is your chance to make your own video and explain topics in space science in a simple way understandable to a non-specialist.

The topics for this contest are:

a. Phases of the Moon / ಚಂದ್ರನ ಬಿಂಬಾವಸ್ಥೆ

b. Craters on the Moon / ಚಂದ್ರನ ಕುಳಿಗಳು

The rules for the contest are:

* The contest is open for students residing in Mysuru and studying in the schools which come under Mysuru Education District Limit.

* Age: “12-15 years” as of 15 July 2023

* Only one submission is allowed per student, and it can be on any one of the two topics mentioned above.

* The language used in the video can be English or Kannada. For any other language, please add subtitles in one of these two languages. The video should not be for longer than 3 minutes.

* You can just talk in front of a phone camera, or camera, or do a PowerPoint presentation, or make one with fancy graphics – the form is up to you. We will judge the entries primarily on the effectiveness of communicating the topic and the quality of the explanation. The best videos will be featured on the social media handles of the COSMOS Mysuru.

* The last date for submission of the videos is 30th June 2023.

* Please do not use copyrighted audio or visual material in your video.

The winners will receive Astronomy goodies from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
