About the Program

Bharathidasan University was established in February 1982, named after the great revolutionary Tamil poet, Bharathidasan (1891-1964). The motto of the University, “We will create a brave new world,” has been framed from Bharathidasan’s poetic words: “புதியததோர் உலகம் செய்த ோம்.” The University strives hard to fulfill the vision by creating an academic atmosphere in the region to see a brave new world of innovation that brings about social change. The University has been accredited with ‘A+’ Grade by NAAC in the third cycle in April 2019.In South Asia, among the universities and institutions of science and technology that figured in the list of university ranking, Bharathidasan University has secured 49th Rank as per the ranking of Webometrics, the Ranking Web of Higher Education universities and science and technology institutions. Bharathidasan University has the largest number of arts and science colleges (151) among all Universities of Tamil Nadu

General Eligibility :

 PG admissions are based on those who have completed 12-year of Schooling and 3-year of under graduation. However, UG students can also apply with their five semester marks, and their Provisional admission will be confirmed only if they successfully complete their UG DegreeProgramme.

 Application form and Prospectus can be had from the Registrar on payment of Rs.355/- Rs.175/- for SC/ST Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of attested Copy of the Community Certificate and for Physically challenged candidates by production of the disability certificate (including GST) by online or sending a Demand Draft obtained from any Nationalized Bank payable at Tiruchirappalli (drawn in favour of “Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli” on or after the date of advertisement).

 Name and Address of the applicant and the Programme applied for should be mentioned on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.

 Application form can also be downloaded from the University website in which case, the downloaded application along with the cost of application as mentioned above should be paid online orsent by way of DD while submitting the filled-in application form.

 Candidates applying for more than one programme will have to use separate application form.
