ADMISSION TO M.TECH./M.PHARM. COURSES (2005-06)

The Institute of Technology offers various 4-Semester courses leading to the degree of M.Tech./M.Pharm. in the following disciplines:

M.Tech.: Ceramic, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Metallurgical and Mining Engineering and in the Inter-Disciplinary Courses: Industrial Management, Systems Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Technology and M.Pharm.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates who have qualified in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2004 or GATE-2005 only) and who, in addition possess B.Tech./B.Pharm. or equivalent degree are eligible. For interdisciplinary courses, candidates with Master?s Degree in appropriate branch of Science (with 60% or above in aggregate and valid GATE Score as above) are also eligible. Details and other conditions as given in the Information Leaflet shall also apply. All regular students admitted on the basis of GATE Score with in the sanctioned intake shall be eligible for PG fellowship as per Government of India/University Grants Commission norms.

Candidates employed in a recognized Industry/Organization may be sponsored by their employers. They should fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria listed above but need not have qualified in GATE.

Candidates who wish to apply for admission to more than one Department/School must submit separate application form for each.

HOW TO APPLY:

The prescribed application form and the Information Leaflet may be obtained from the Institute Directorate Counter on cash payment of Rs. 500/- or by post by sending a crossed Bank Draft for Rs. 500/= in favour of ?Institute of Technology, BHU? payable at State Bank of India, Banaras Hindu University (Branch Code 0211) alongwith a self addressed envelope of size 12??9? with stamps worth Rs. 42/- affixed thereon for each application form, to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi ? 221 005.

(a) Sale of Application Form at the Counter of IT-Directorate : From March 24, 2005 to May 14, 2005

(b) Requisition for sending application form through Post : From March 24, 2005 to April 30, 2005

(c) Last date for receiving completed Application Forms in the respective Department/School only. : May 26, 2005

(d) Last date for receiving completed Application Form for Foreign students in the respective Department/School. : June 09, 2005
