BITS Pilani is a “Deemed to be University” under Section 3 of UGC Act since 1964. Its campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai provide to over 11,500 students an all-round educational and co-curricular experience that is second to none in India. It offers UG, PG and PhD level programmes in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Economics & Finance and Humanities & Social Sciences.

Admissions to Higher Degree (PG) Programmes 2015-2016

Applications are invited for admission to its 4-semester Higher Degree Programmes offered in various programmes at the campuses mentioned below. Admissions will be made On all India basis and on merit of candidates.

Input Qualification: Any integrated first degree of BITS or its equivalent with minimum of 60% aggregate as specified at www.bitsadmission.com.

Note: Admissions to M.E /M.Pharm are based on performance in computer-based online test conducted by BITS, to be held during 30th May – 31st May 2015 at specified centers in India.

Assistantship (Fee waiver and Stipend): Candidates admitted to a Higher Degree Programme will also be considered for teaching assistantship with a stipend upto Rs 10400/- p.m. and / or partial tution fee waiver. Selected candidates will be required to participated teaching and other developmental programs of the institute under guidance of faculty members.

Admissions to Ph.D. Programmes 2015-2016

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. Programmes at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses in following disciplines:

Biological Sciences, Chemical Engg., Chemistry, Civil Engg., Computer Science, Economics and Finance, Electrical & Electronics Engg. Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engg., Pharmacy, Physics, Humanities and Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary areas such as Biotechnology, Energy, Environment, Robotics, Nano-science & Nanotechnology, Water Management etc. For availability of full time / part time Ph.D. admissions in any specific discipline at a campus, please refer to www.bitsadmission.com. Input Qualification:

* M.E./M.Pharm./MBA/M.Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate.

* Candidates with an M.Sc./B.E./B.Pharm or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate may also be considered for Ph.D. admission. For Ph.D. Programme in Humanities and Social Sciences candidates with an M.A. and with minimum of 55% aggregate may also be considered.

* Full time students: Candidates are required to devote full time towards Ph.D. Selected candidates will be entitled to 90% tuition fee waiver. Short listed candidates will be required to come to Pilani / Goa / Hyderabad campuses for test and/or interview. Preference will be given to candidates working in ongoing sponsored projects in the Institute, and to CSIRAJGC- NET qualified candidates.

* Part time students: Candidates working in organisations situated in close vicinity of campuses of BITS Pilani will be admitted under this scheme. They may be considered for 80% waiver in tuition fee.

Assistantship (Fee waiver and Stipend): Those admitted to full time Ph.D. programme will be considered for Project/Research Assistantships to the tune of Rs. 13200/- to Rs. 18200/- pm or more in addition to tuition fee waiver(as above). Selected candidates will be required to participate in teaching and other developmental programme of the institute under the guidance of a mentor. For details please visit www.bitsadmission.com.
