Bournemouth Media School Welcomes International Students Reham al-Farra International Scholarship in Journalism

Bournemouth Media School is proud to offer the Reham al-Farra Scholarship. This is in memory of Reham al-Farra, a former MA Multi-Media Journalism student who tragically died whilst working for the UN in Baghdad in 2003. The scholarship is only available to students applying for the MA in Multi-Media Journalism. The scholarship will primarily be awarded for academic merit and proficency in English (if English is not your first language).

This could include, for example, degree outcomes in appropriate subject areas, equivalent to at least a 2:i degree, from a UK university (i.e. at least a B average or 3.0 GPA according to the North American system).

Who can apply for the scholarship?

The scholarship is open only to international students (students from outside the European Union) who are classified for fee purposes as "overseas" students.

Only students who have applied for MA Multi-media Journalism in Bournemouth Media School and who have been made an offer of a place on the programme, (conditional or unconditional) will be considered for the scholarship.

What does the University look for in its international scholars?

The Scholarship is awarded to a student who has achieved an excellent standard in their undergraduate degree, can demonstrate a high level of English proficency (if English is not their first language) and has provided information which suggests that they are likely to be an asset to the programme.

The final decision is based on the information supplied in both your Bournemouth Media School programme application form and scholarship application form.
