Baselios Poulose II Catholicos College, Piravom, was founded in 1995 by the Malankara Syrian Jacobite Christian Education Trust, a non profitable organization of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the realm of education to the rural youth. The college is named after His Beatitude Baselios Poulose II , the Catholicos of the East for 21 years, who was known for his profound scholarship, social concerns and commitment to reform. Minister, Government of Kerala. Permanently affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, the College offers five undergraduate programmes in frontier areas viz. B.A. English with Journalism, B. C. A., B. B. A., B. Sc. Electronics and B. Com. with Computer Application, and two Postgraduate programmes – M. Sc. Electronics and M. Sc. Computer Science. Ever since its inception, the Management, Members on the staff and students were instrumental in introducing several innovative programmes and healthy practices in this campus, which paved way to its culmination when the College was elevated to the top 10% category of academic institutions in the country, with the highest grade in NAAC assessment and accreditation.

The College takes pride in its achievements and looks forward to realize its aspirations for the future, and is steadfast in its commitment to shape and transform young men and women into talented, disciplined, enthusiastic and hardworking citizens of India.
