CIFNET invites online applications from the candidates who have completed SSLC/HSC with 50% marks in Mathematics & Science for admission into BFSc(NS)/VNC/MFC courses for the year 2017-18. For online registration, please visit: www.cifnet.qov.in

BACHELOR OF FISHERY SCIENCE (NAUTICAL SCIENCE) (2017-2021)

COURSE DETAILS

1. Four year degree programme (8 semester) with integrated practical & on board training ” on ocean going fishing vessels.

2. Affiliated to CUSAT, Kochi and approved by DG Shipping, Mumbai

3. The course is conducted at CIFNET, Kochi only.

ELIGIBILITY: 10 + 2 with minimum 50% marks in English and Mathematics and aggregate marks in other Science subjects and only pass in 10 + 2 is enough for SC/ST and the candidates, who are appearing for 10+2 exams during March, 2017 are also eligible.

AGE : 17 to 20 years as on 1st October, 2017

Intake Capacity: 33 seats (Open-31, NRI-1, Foreign National-1)

MODE OF SELECTION: Common Entrance Test. Academic Merit & Interview

VESSEL NAVIGATOR COURSE (VNC) / MARINE FITTER COURSE (MFC) (2017-2019)

COURSE DETAILS

1. Two years trade course (4 semester) with practical training on board fishing vessel out at sea and these Courses introduced by DGET, New Delhi under Craftsmen Training Scheme of NCVT

2. The courses are conducted at CIFNET Kochi / Chennai / Visakhapatnam

ELIGIBILITY:

1. Pass in 10th Standard or equivalent with 50% marks in Mathematics and Science separately for VNC and just pass for MFC

2.The candidates, who are appearing for 10th exams during March, 2017 are also eligible.

AGE:16-20vrs as on 1st Aug 2017.Upper Age is relaxable to SC/ST by 5 years

Intake capacity: VNC – 48, MFC – 48 (@ 16 seats each at Kochi, Chennai, Vizag)

MQDE OF SELECTION: All India basis Common Entrance Test(CET)

CET Centre: Kochi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Delhi, Kolkata, Puri, Patna, Mangalore, Port Blair, Pondicherry and Kakinada.

CET Date: 17/06/2017

Note: The Selected candidates will be paid Rs.1500/- per month as stipend.

Application fee: DD for Rs. 300/- for General and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST
