CSIR-SERC Chennai, a National Laboratory of CSIR invites applications for Ph.D. admission in Engineering Sciences for January 2012 session. The main cutting edge research areas include: Structural Concrete Engineering and Technology; Wind Engineering; Earthquake Engineering; Structural Health Monitoring, evaluation & Forensic Analysis; Towers & Tower-like Structures-Analysis, design, testing & evaluation; Metal structure behaviour; Fatigue & Fracture; Sustainable materials, composites and structures; Nanotechnology and Biomimetics; Damage mitigation of structures; Retrofitting/Rehabilitation of structures; Computational structural mechanics for analysis & design of structures; Risk & Reliability of Structures; Performance-based Design; Artificial intelligence / soft computing applications in structural Engineenng; Interaction problems.
