B. Sc (Nursing)/ General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM): Course ? 2008

 

1. Applications are invited from Female Candidates for admission to 4 years B. Sc (Nursing) training course commencing in Aug/ Sept. 2008 at college of Nursing AFMC Pune and 3 ? years Training in Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery course commencing in Aug/ Sept 2008 at various Armed Forces Hospitals. Selected candidates shall execute an agreement/ Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 5 years. On successful completion of Nursing Training (4 and 3 ? years respectively), the candidates will be granted commission in the Military Nursing Service under the terms and conditions laid down for grant of such commission. They shall have to refund the entire cost of training in the event of withdrawal from the course, premature termination of training of refusal to accept commission in the MNS, if offered. During training they will be provided with free ration, accommodation, uniform allowance and monthly stipend as applicable.

 

2. Eligibility Conditions:

 

(a) Females who are unmarried or divorcee/ legally separated or widow without encumbrances.

 

(b) Nationality ? Indian

 

(c) Date of Birth ? Between 01 Jan. 83 and 01 Jan 91

 

(d) Educational Qualification ? Should have passed in the First Attempt the Senior Secondary (10+2)/ equivalent examination from a recognized Board/ University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks as a regular student. Those who have passed such examinations as private students or with compartment in any subject are not eligible.

 

(e) Physical Standards ? Medical fitness will be determined as per standards laid down by Military Authorities. Minimum height should be 142 cms.

 

3. Selection:

 

Eligible applicants will be called for an objective type written test of 90 minutes duration, covering the topic in General English, Biology and General Intelligence, likely to be held in Feb/ March 2008. The parts of question paper pertaining to Biology and General Intelligence will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi. Candidates as per merit on the basis of written test will be called for interview during April/ May 2008. Final selection will be as per combined merit of written and interview, subject to medical fitness.

 

4. Medical Examination:

 

After the interview the short-listed candidates will have to appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB). Candidates declared Temporary Unfit/ Unfit will be informed by the President of the Medical Board and regarding the procedure for requesting for Appeal/ Review Medical Examination.

 

5. Written Examination Centres:

 

Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Danapur, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jammu, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Secunderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam. The number of centers may change as per the number of candidates appearing for the written test.

 

Note:

 

If sufficient number of candidates are not available at any centre, the candidates opting for that centre will be allotted the centre of their second choice.

 

6. How to Apply:

 

(a) Apply on plain paper (21 cm ? 36 cm) as per the format given in the advertisement (to be typed in Block capital letters).

 

(b) Applications received after the last date, will neither be opened nor be entertained.

 

(c) Applications received on newspaper cutting or its photocopy will not be entertained.

 

(d) Candidates should have passed the specified qualifying examinations before submission of their application.

 

7. The following is the list of enclosures to be attached (Photo copies only) with the application. These documents should be neatly tagged. Photo(recent) should be pasted and not stapled. This office will not be held responsible for loss of any documents while handling in transit ? (a) Attested copy of Matric/ equivalent certificate, showing Date of Birth.

 

(b) Attested copy of complete Mark Sheet of Senior Secondary (10+2)/ equivalent exam. In case subject codes and maximum marks are given on reverse side, copies of Both Sides are essential.

 

(c) Attested copy of Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST candidates.

 

(d) In case the time gap between and 10th and 12th classes is more than two years, a certificate from concerned school/ college that candidate passed complete Sr. Secondary Exam in the First Attempt as a regular student.

 

(e) Four copies of admit cards on full-scape paper (format enclosed) with passport size photo (without attestation), duly pasted in the space provided). If the photograph is not properly pasted and is stapled/ loosely affixed and gets detached while in transit/ handling, the application of such candidate is liable to be rejected.

 

(f) Four self-addressed envelopes of good quality size 27 ? 12 cms postal stamps of Rs.6/- be fixed on each envelope.

 

(g) An affidavit stating that you are issueless (in case of widows/ divorcee)

 

(h) Legal documents of the divorcee and affidavit that the matter is not under consideration with the higher court.

 

8. Last Date:

 

Application on full scape paper(A4) should reach,

9. The aforesaid conditions are subject to modification without notice if deemed essential.

 

10. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates whose applications have been rejected.
