BIRAC INNOVATION FELLOWS

Biotechnology Industrial Research Assistance Council established E- YUVA Centre (formerly known as University Innovation Cluster) in Anna University to professionally support students in the ideation stage to establish their Biotech start-up. The attractive fellowship is highly competitive. Motivated students with passion for innovation and drive for start-ups can apply.

Who can apply?

Post-Doctoral Fellow: Applicants who have completed their Ph.D in any field of science The fellow should apply within 2 years of completion of degree (females are exempted from this condition)

Post Graduate Fellow: Applicants who have completed their Masters/B.Tech/ B.Pharma/B.E in any field of science. The fellow should apply within 3 years of completion of degree (females are exempted from this condition)

Scope & Support of BIRAC Innovation Fellowship

➢ It is for Students completed UG/PG/Ph.D to test their ideas/discoveries and take them to Proof of Concept.

➢ It is Pre-incubation support to innovative ideas, innovators for effective translation into products thereof.

➢ FOCUS AREA: BIOTECHNOLOGY / BIOMEDICAL / HEALTHCARE

➢ The selected BIRAC Innovation Fellows should work at E- YUVA Centre, Anna University.

➢ Grant period is 18 months and extendable by 6 months.

Who can apply?

Students who are pursuing under graduation. And should apply as a team. A team should comprise minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 Indian students from Indian Institutes/College pursuing under graduation in any domain. Teams with students from different disciplines are encouraged. One team can have students from same/different college/institute. The team should be supported by a mentor/guide.

Scope & Support of BIRAC E-YUVA Fellowship

➢ Proposal should be original and apply interdisciplinary knowledge

➢ It is for Under graduate students to test their ideas/discoveries and take them to Proof of Concept.

➢ It is aimed at development of innovative Biotech products/technologies with societal/commercial potential.

➢ FOCUS AREA: BIOTECHNOLOGY / BIOMEDICAL / HEALTHCARE

➢ Fellowship is provided for a period of 12 months.
