ONE RA position is available in the Systems Biology for Biofuel Group, ICGEB, New Delhi in a SERB-sponsored project titled “Transcriptional engineering of a fast-growing marine cyanobacterium Synechococcus sp. PCC 11901 towards efficient metabolites production”. The position is available initially for 1 year and extendable depending upon satisfactory performance and funding availability. No hostel accomodation will be provided to the candidate selected for the position.

1. RA-Transcriptional Engineering of Synechococcus

Job description: The selected candidate will be responsible for preparation of knock-outs of selected genes and their combinations and conducting growth and physiology experiments as well as proteomics and metabolomics analyses of the generated transformants. Other responsibilities include:

• Work closely with collaborators in Banaras Hindu University and provide them with any assistance as needed. This may involve traveling to BHU occassionally.

• The candidate is expected to conduct the assigned tasks within the assigned deadlines with minimum/ remote supervision.

• Timely completion of experiments and preparation of reports for submission to the funding agency

• Coordinate with other group members to ensure that safety.

Qualifications: The incumbent should have Ph.D. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology/equivalent or having at least 3 years of research experience after ME/M. Tech/M.Pharm. Prior experience in culturing, molecular biology, and Omics analyses of cyanobacteria will be preferred.

Salary: The salary for RA position will be as per SERB/DST norms.
