Online applications are invited for a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship at the Center for Design and New Media (Supported by Tata Consultancy Services, a TCS Foundation Initiative), at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi). CDNM is a research facility at IIIT-Delhi that brings together scholars in the areas of Design, Computer Science, and Social Sciences to conduct research in Technology and Society, Human-Centered AI, and Metaverse. The members of the center are world-class researchers having Ph.D.s from renowned institutions in six different countries. CDNM members are actively engaged in many high-impact collaborative projects funded by private as well as public agencies. As per CSRanking.org, IIIT-Delhi has been identified as the best HCI research institute at the national level1 and among the top 10 best HCI research institute at the Asia level2

Overview:

This pre-doctoral fellowship is a fully funded position for a tenure of one year. The fellowship is intended for early-career researchers who would benefit from an additional year of training before formally entering a Masters or a Ph.D. program.

Early career researchers in the following areas are encouraged to apply:

1) Human-Centered AI
2) Metaverse
3) Technology and Society

Pre-Doctoral Fellows will gain experience working on advanced research topics in the broad area of Human-Centered Design under the mentorship of CDNM faculty(ies)

Eligibility Criteria:

1) Graduation [4 Year Degree] and/or Post-Graduation Degree in Design and/or Engineering (CSE/ECE/Mechanical/Instrumentation).

2) 8.0 CGPA or above with no arrears in any semester.

3) One letter of recommendation from a senior faculty/ head of the Department of your current institution/department.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview by May 15, 2022, for a project with a start date from June 1, 2022, or as per the mutual convenience of the student and the mentor

Fellow Support:

1) Pre-Doctoral Fellows will be mentored by one (or more) CDNM faculty member depending on mutual research interests.

2) Fellows will gain world-class research experience working on advanced research topics in Human-Centered Design.

3) An attractive stipend of approx. Rs. 25,000/- + HRA (24%) = Rs. 31,000/month.
