About IIM Udaipur Research Assistant
The Consumer Culture Lab at IIM Udaipur comprises faculty, researchers, students and alumni of IIM Udaipur, along with global domain experts from academia and industry, committed to producing knowledge on various aspects of consumer culture in India. Launched in November 2020, the lab works towards generating thought leadership on Indian consumer culture. The lab brings forth multidisciplinary perspectives from domains like anthropology, sociology and psychology to decode Indian consumers. It also creates and disseminates knowledge on qualitative research methods for both academic and non-academic practitioners.
Since its inception, the lab has conducted qualitative studies with several themes within the Indian consumer context. Some of our ongoing research includes the study of social media influencers from rural India and tier 1/ tier 2 cities. Further, the lab is committed to advancing the education of qualitative research methods and cultural analysis in India and the development of teaching materials and courses are underway.
We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Qualitative Researcher to join our team as a Research Assistant.
The ideal candidate is curious, skeptical, and detail oriented. He/she is also a continuous learner, working to improve their analytical skills and increase productivity.
The selected candidate will be working closely with the team and will have the opportunity to effectively manage and implement research studies, including conceptualization of an idea, primary data collection, performing the most appropriate qualitative analysis and reporting the results.
* Plans and executes research projects through design, respondent recruitment, data collection, data organization and summarizing, analysis, and dissemination of results.
* Determines appropriate research methods for diverse projects including implementation studies, qualitative research and secondary data-analysis.
* Collects, combines and cleans data from multiple sources.
* Analyzes data using qualitative methods and techniques.
* Produces high-quality reports and presentations.
* Assists in the operational activities of the lab.
Bachelors/Master’s degree in disciplines such as Consumer Behavior, Sociology, Anthropology or Humanities from any of the top-tier colleges in the country or from abroad is preferred. Highly motivated candidates with an undergrad/Masters from other disciplines can also apply if they are comfortable with social science theories.
An ideal candidate would be someone who is considering doing a PhD in any of the above-mentioned disciplines in the near future. The learning experience from academic mentors will be a great opportunity for such candidates.
