Project description: Wave propoagation and nonlinear dynamics of metamaterial structures like granular lattices with internal resonators and arrays of carbon nanotubes (SWNTs and MWNTs) on substrates

Consolidated monthly pay: 47,000 + HRA 8% (As per norms)

Qualification and experience: PhD in Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering/Aerospace Engineering. Candidates should have good understanding of nonlinear dynamics, vibrations, structural dynamics, analytical and asymptotic methods. Candidates are desired to have experience in analytical and computational modeling of carbon nanotubes (SWNTs and MWNTs) using shell-based models and/or molecular dynamics based models. Understanding of Finite Element Analysis for application in continuum/solid mechanics and working knowledge of commercial FEA software like ABAQUS/Ansys, mathematical analysis tools like Matlab/Mathematica are desirable.

Tenure: One year and is extendable based on the performance and progress
