About Prakriti Research Fellowship

The Prakriti Research Fellowship is a small grants programme initiated to support nature conservation and action with a focus to create a direct tangible long-term impact on nature conservation in Aurangabad and beyond started in 2018. This program was born out of the need as identified during research into the Green Aurangabad Mission. Sponsored by various industry partners, the fellowship aims to provide seed money for strong on-ground work done by individuals, teams, and small NGOs in this field.We have received an overwhelming response with 40 applications from all across the country and 2 fully sponsored programs on field, two in Aurangabad and one in Ladakh!

Prakriti Research Fellowship is an initiative of The Center for Applied Research and People’s Engagement to support nature conservation reserch and action In India. CARPE works towards designing and implementing evidencedriven solutions to civic and environmental challenges in Aurangabad and beyond, in  collaboration with government and industry partners.

PRAKRITI RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

Our focus is to create a direct tangible long-term impact on nature conservation in India.

Themes :

* Important habitats ( e.g. UNESCO natural world heritage sites , Protected Areas, Biosphere reserves, threatened habitats outside Protected areas.

* Threatened Species ( IUCN red list categories ; Critically endangered (CR) , Endangered ( EN) , Vulnerable (VU) , Near Threatened (NT)

* Urban habitats ( urban forests, green spaces etc., )

Five Fellowships will be granted for an amount of Rs.2 lakhs each.
