Call for the position of Junior Research Fellow for the DST-GITA India-Taiwan S&T Cooperation Research Project

“Highly Efficient and Reliable Solid State Transformer for Future Distribution Network with Renewable Energy Support”

Applications are invited from self motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the Department of Science and Technology (DST-GITA) India-Taiwan S&T Cooperation Programme sponsored research project on “Highly Efficient and Reliable Solid State Transformer for Future Distribution Network with Renewable Energy Support”.

Essential Qualifications:

1. M.Tech/M.E.in Electrical Engineering Department with specialization in Power Electronics/Electrical Drives/Power System/Control System or equivalent.
2. Candidate should have qualified GATE in the past.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Candidate should have experimental knowledge in the hardware and controller design of power electronic converters. First division in UG and PG will be given preference.
2. Proficient in MATLAB, PSIM, PCB Design Software and Microcontroller/Digital Signal Controller/FPGA.
3. Good analytical ability and competent in writing skills.

Fellowship:

First two years Rs. 31,000 p.m. (Consolidated) and Third year Rs. 35,000 (consolidated). HRA will be given as per rules.

Duration:

Maximum duration of the project is three years. Initially, appointment will be made for six months, which can be extended later for every six months till the completion of project subject to approval of Director, VNIT. The extension shall be solely based on satisfactory performance.

Along with the application, candidates have to send: (i) Three Letters of Recommendation, (ii) One page write up on the skills and achievements, and (iii) One page write up (in your own words) on your research plans in the related area.

Note:

1. No compensation will be allowed to appear for written test / interview.
2. Candidate selected for this position can also have chance to register for regular Ph. D. program provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria for the same.
3. Decision of The Director, VNIT Nagpur will be the final in all respect.
