About HEST

HEST is India’s largest Higher Education Scholarship Test where students from top colleges compete to win scholarships to fund their study abroad. HEST is powered by WeMakeScholars, an organization funded & supported by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India under the ‘Digital India’ campaign. They are launching the HEST 2025, after receiving a tremendous response with over 10,000+ applicants for the HEST 2024, conducted last year. The total scholarship fund allocated for this HEST season is 2 Crore, with each scholarship of upto 3 lacs. The exact value of each scholarship depends on the quality & quantity of scholarship applications received in that particular season.

Eligibility criteria

1. Applicant must be an Indian citizen
2. Applicant must be planning to study abroad within the next 12 months
3. Applicants NEED NOT produce the foreign university admission confirmation at the moment. It can be submitted later while receiving the scholarship cash award.
4. Applicant must have a minimum score of 55% in 10th & 12th
5. Students going abroad for Bachelors/ Masters/ MBA/ Diploma programs are eligible to apply. MBBS/ MD/ PhD programs are ineligible for this scholarship.
6. Those who will be self-funding their total expenses are NOT eligible for this scholarship program as we believe they are financially stable to fund their studies. Our motto is to support the needy and financially weak students.

7. HEST intends supporting those applicants who will be funding their total expenses  ( inclusive of tution fee, living and travel expenses ) using an education loan.
