DAAD in India

The DAAD Regional Office New Delhi, established in 1960, promotes academic exchange between Germany and South Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan). It provides information about institutions of higher education as well as research institutions in Germany. DAAD provides annual fellowships and short-term research grants, supports guest professorships and helps to establish university collaborations.

DAAD Regional Office New Delhi invites applications for an Intern.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following tasks must be undertaken under the supervision of the responsible Programme Coordinator/s:

1. Supporting with conducting a survey for DAAD Alumni from India and the region (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Srilanka) present worldwide and approaching them through different media

2. Collecting and analysing data using statistics

3. Summarizing survey data/ outcome using tables, graphs, factsheets

4. Writing survey reports

5. Maintaining and updating databases

You may also be involved in

6. Processing, reviewing and updating the scholarship applications based on scholarship criteria

7. Providing support to the Programme Coordinator/s as per requirement

8. Assisting in holding the selection committee meetings and coordinating selection procedure

9. Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

1. Full time bachelor’s degree; students having a distance learning degree are not eligible

2. Strong analytical and IT skills (particularly MS Excel to work on data and statistics)

3. Very good written communication skills in English

4. Knowledge of German language would be advantageous

5. Attention to detail, precision and thoroughness

6. Ability to handle confidential data

7. High organisational skills

Please note:

• This position requires a commitment of 40 hrs. per week

• This is a paid internship without stay and travel allowances
