Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology was established in the year 1987 as Regional Engineering College and was given the status of National Institute of Technology (Deemed University) by the Government of India on October 17, 2002 under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. The Government of India has declared the Institute as an “Institute of National Importance” under an act of Parliament in 2007. A large number of reputed industrial houses in the country visit the Institute and select the final year students as Engineers/ Management Trainees. As one of the National Institutes of Technology (NIT), the Institute has the responsibility of providing high quality education in Engineering, Technology and Sciences to produce competent technical and scientific manpower for the country. The Institute offers B Tech, M Tech, M Sc, MBA and PhD programmes in several disciplines of Engineering, Technology and Sciences.

OVERVIEW OF INTERNSHIP

This Summer Internship is aimed to make learn the trainees the theoretical concepts and practical aspects of Modelling and Simulation pertaining to the CAE modules used in industry. This will include in detail the Engineering Drawing, Mechanical Drawing, and Manufacturing. These demonstration sessions will be properly blended with practical hands-on on the relevant modelling, and simulation – AutoCAD, Creo Parametric 4.0, It is well known that the world of Virtual Experimentation through such commercial packages has replaced the traditional method of validation/verification of a design or theory, and has also drastically reduced the time and money spent on final physical testing and prototyping. These tools are used now-a-days in almost all engineering fields, including automotive, aerospace, defense and many others.

Eligibility – WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The Summer Internship Programme is intended to provide an opportunity to train the undergraduate (UG)/graduate
(PG) students as well as faculty of engineering at Degree / Diploma levels. Industry Practitioners engaged in CAD/
CAM/ & CAE may also attend.
