RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME(P.hD)

Applications are invited for pursuing P.hD research work(full-time)from candidates having consistently good academic record in follwing streams:

Engineering Stream Mining,Petroleum,Fuel,Mineral, Mining,Machinery,Electrical,Environment, Mechanical,Electronics,Computer Science&Engineering, Longwall Mine Mechanisation,Industrial Engineering and Management

Science Stream Applied Geology,Applied Geophysics,Applied Mathematics Applied Physics,Applied Chemistry,Environment

Humanities Stream English

Management Stream Management

General Eligibility

P.hD in Engineering B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology with minimum 1st Class marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.

P.hD in Science MSc., / M.Sc., Tech / M.Phil / M.Tech degree in appropriate discipline of science with minimum 1 st class marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examinations. In Mathematics Group, the candidates with basic degree in Statistics may also apply

P.hD in Management MBA(or equivalent) or M.Tech / B.Tech / M.A. /M.Sc., / M.Com in appropriate discipline with 1 st class marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination..

P.hD in Humanities & Social Science M.A. / M.Phil degree in English with minimum 1st class equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.

Age Limit The candidaes should be below the age of 30 years ( 35 years for Women /SC/ST) as on 01.01.2004

FELLOWSHIP AMOUNT Rs.7000/- per month for M.Tech / M.Phil / MBA degree holders and Rs.6000/- per month for B.Tech / M.Sc.,/ M.Sc. Tech degree holders. An annual increment of Rs.500/- is admissible, subject to satisfactory progress.

Note : Candidates whose results in the qualifying examination are yet to be declared need not apply.

HOW TO APPLY

The candidates may apply in plain paper giving complete bio-data (as below) alongwith a bank draft for Rs.500/- (Rupees five Hundred only) in favour of Registrar, Indian School of Mines,Dhanbad payable at SBI,ISM Campus Dhanbad – 826 004(Code No.1641)

5.Address for correspondence / permanent adddress

6. Educational qualification from matriculation onwards giving the names of examinations passed, subjects taken , % of marks, division, year of passing and Institute/University ( Photocopies of certificate to be enclosed)

7. Whether UGC/CSIR-NET or GATE qualified ( certificate to be attached )

8. Whether SC/ST/OBC ( certificate to be attached )

9. Choice of discipline / stream ( as detailed above )

10. Choice of centre for written test – Option I & Option II . In case sufficient number of candidates are not available for the centre as in Option I , the centre as in Option II would be allowed

11. Declaration : The information given above are true to the best of my knowledge and belief.

The application should reach the Asstt.Registrar ( Academic ) , Indian School of Mines , Dhanbad – 826 004 on or before 28.11.2003 . Date of written test has been fixed on 28.12.2003 . Admit card would be issued within 15 days from the last date of received of application . No TA/DA is admissible for appearing in written test/attending the interview / joining the programme.
