About the Program

Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU), established on September 7, 1990 to cater to the long – felt needs of the three southern most districts of Tamil Nadu: Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari was named after the famous poet – laureate and scholar, Professor P. Sundaram Pillai. The University has inherited a strong network of over 67 affiliated colleges, 6 Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Colleges and 4 Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Constituent Colleges. Many of these colleges have contributed significantly to the cause of higher education, of which six colleges including the Sarah Tucker College, Palayamkottai the oldest women’s college in the state, are over 100 years old.
