Information Science Courses

Associateship in Information Science 2007?09

(A two years course equivalent to master?s degree in Library and Information Science recognized by Govt. of India & many universities)

Applications are invited for the 2007-2009 batch of the course commencing on September 5, 2007

Eligibility:

A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Masters Degree or Four-year plus degree like B.E, M.B.B.S or bachelor?s degree plus B. Lib. Sc plus one year relevant experience after B. Lib. Sc

Selection:

Twenty five candidates would be selected based on admission test (July 3, 2007) and interview (last week of July, 2007).

Test Centres: New Delhi, Kolkata & Bangalore

Interview Centre:

New Delhi, (Outstation candidates appearing for interview will be paid II class sleeper return rail fare or equivalent as per shortest route).

Scholarship:

Provision for scholarships to non-sponsored meritorious student @ Rs.2000/- per month for 9 months exists

How to Apply:

Prospectus and application form can be obtained from Head, ETD from May 28, 2007 onwards by sending a self addressed envelope (25cm *20 cm) affixing Rs.25/- postage stamps along with a DD for Rs.200/- drawn in favour of Director, NISCAIR, payable at New Delhi and can also be collected on payment of cash. The form can also be downloaded from our website at http://www.niscair.res.in and completed application form may be submitted with a DD for Rs.200/- drawn in favour of Director, NISCAIR, payable at New Delhi. Last date for submission of completed application: June 18, 2007.

Topics: Information Technology for Information Management, Library Automation and Resources Sharing, Recent Trends in Library & Information Science, Patent Drafting and WINISIS.
