“ONE YEAR INTENSIVE COURSE IN ACTING” ADMISSION NOTICE

National School of Drama ( National School of Drama Scholarships ) Bengaluru Centre invites application for admission to its residential One year certificate course in Acting. The course will begin from 25,h July 2017. Any Indian throughout the country (India) can apply but preference would be given to candidates from Southern States of India i.e. Karnataka, Seemandhra, Telangana, Tamitnadu, Kerala and Union territory of Puducherry, Lakshadweep).

NO OF SEATS : 20 (Twenty)

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION: English. The language of instruction shall be English & South Indian Languages. The language of performance wil be multilingual (South Indian Languages). The language of writing the examination shall be English or any one from the Southern region.

ELIGIBILTY:

Essential qualifications:

1. The minimum qualification shall be Graduation or equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University. It is relaxable in the case of extraordinary talented candidates from the tribal, folk and traditional performing art families.

2. Sufficient knowledge of theatre with participation in at-least4 productions.

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years & Maximum 30 years as on 1st June 2017.

The application form can be downloaded from the School’s website www.nsd.gov.in from 7 April, 2017 onwards. Application form and Prospectus are also available at National School of Drama, Bengaluru Centre, Kalagrama, Mallathalli (Behind Bengaluru University), Bengaluru-56, Between 10am to 1.00 pm.

HOW TO APPLY:

Attested copies of certificates and testimonials must be attached with the application form along with a demand draft of Rs. 150/- in favour of NSD Bengaluru Chapter.

FORMS TO BE SENT ON THIS ADDRESS:

Completed form may be sent by post or by hand to the Camp Director, NSD Bengaluru Centre, kalagrama. Mallathalli (Behind Bengaluru University), Bengaluru-56.

THE LAST DATE:

The last date for submitting the duly filled application form is 25th June, 2017. No application will be entertained after this date.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

After scrutinizing the shortlisted applications, the candidates will have to appear for the final selection through a 2-4 days workshop at Bengaluru Centre, Kalagrama, Mallathalli(Behind Bengaluru university), Bengaluru-56 for audition/ performance and physical test at their own cost on I”, 1 & 3′ July, 2017. Candidates must produce original certificates and testimonials during the workshop.

An expert committee constituted by National Shool of Drama, New Delhi will assess the aptitude and talent of the candidiates and the committee’s decision will be final. Any CANVASSING in regard this will be treated as a disqualification.

SCHOLARSHIP:

Finally selected candidiates for the course will be given scholarship of Rs.4500/- per monUi for the academic year.

PHYSICAL FITNESS: All selected students will have to undergo a medical test for physical fitness. Their final selection is subject to clearance of the fitness test.
