SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR THE STUDENTS OF JAMMU & KASHMIR DURING ACADEMIC YEAR 2018-19

ABOUT THE SCHEME:

The scheme envisages to build capacities of the youth of J&K to enable them to compete in the normal course. Scholarship is awarded to meet the expenditure towards Academic Fees and Maintenance Allowances (for hostel, mess, cost of books and other incidental charges) to students who are admitted through AICTE s counseling process.

1. NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIP, ACADEMIC FEE & MAINTENANCE CHARGES:

* Scholarship towards academic fee will be reimbursed directly to Institution as per actual or as per norms laid down by State Fee Regulatory Authority or fixed under PMSSS, whichever is less and within overall ceiling of the guidelines.

* The ceiling for maintenance charges will be Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum and will be paid through PFMS mechanism in students account directly in two equal instalments of Rs. 50,000/- each.

* Second or subsequent instalments will be released subject to submission of promotion letter duly signed by the Head of the Institution.

* Expenditure towards maintenance charges for hostel, mess, cost of books and other incidental charges will be credited to the student bank account directly

Note: Saving Bank Account should be seeded with Aadhaar Number and in the name of the bonafide student. Students may note that Bank Accounts should not be a "Nofrill Account" /Minor Account, Parents Account /Non-Operative etc.

2. ELIGIBILITY:

* Students having domicile of Jammu & Kashmir and have passed 12th examination from J&K Board or CBSE affiliated schools located in J&K in academic year 2017-18 or 2016-17only.

* Students who wants to take admission under Lateral Entry Scheme have to pass Diploma in Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute recognised by J&K during AY not earlier than 2016-17. Admission under Lateral Entry Scheme will be subject to vacant seats available during academic year 2017-18 in Engineering Stream only.

* Common merit list will be prepared for students who register themselves on portal of AICTE for allotment of seats during counseling for academic year 2018-19.

* Having family income of Rs. 8.00 Lakh or less per annum.

3. INSTITUTES / COLLEGES PARTICIPATING:

* Admission will be offered to the students in selected pool of well performing institutions / colleges / universities, which are recognized by AICTE or approved by UGC under Section 12(B) or respective Regulatory Bodies of Government of India only, which are fulfilling following additional criteria:

* All the NAAC and NBA accredited institute/colleges having hostel facilities and given their willingness to offer admissions.

* All AICTE approved institutions having atleast 50% enrolment in the North and North-Western States (Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand) and with atleast 80% or more enrolment admissions in the rest of the country excluding J&K State with having :

a) Zero deficiency on AICTE portal for academic year 2018-19.

b) Hostel facility.

c) Placement of their students minimum 30% in last three years.

3.1 ADMISSION IN IITs / NITs and OTHER INSTITUTIONS OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE:

* Aspirants desire to take admission through JEE Mains/JEE Advance in IIT's, NIT 's, IISC, IISER and centrally funded institutions with national importance may be considered , if student participate in online counselling by filling their JEE Mains/JEE Advance roll numbers with respective admit card and result.

* All Medical aspirants seeking admission in BDS/MBBS streams have to appear in NEET examinations whereas they can register on portal by submitting their complete details including NEET roll number and get their documents verified by Facilitation Centre as per the procedure. Further, after securing there admission to college through NEET central counselling, they may upload their admission letter and NEET score card to become eligible for the scholarship.

Aspirants seeking admission in Architecture programme have to qualify NATA and their admission to Architecture through portal would be confirmed after uploading their NATA result and admit card.
