About the Workshop on IIIT Naya Raipur

The Robotics and Autonomous systems is an interdisciplinary field which interacts and combines with various engineering branches of electrical, electronics, mechanical and computer science/information technology. Fueled by recent advances in computer vision, sensing, digitization, fabrication and understanding the dynamics of physical systems, may open for new technological advances in Robotics. Robotics may find applications range from machine tools, autonomous vehicles, medical, process industry for automation, military. Some applications are already mature and new ones emerge every day. Therefore, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have gained a rapidly expanding foothold in the workplace, faster than many organizations ever. This is predicted to be one of the most wanted skills in the near-term future!. Therefore learning robotics fundamentals will be a very handy thing.

Objectives

This course is designed to provide an exposure to the fundamentals of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Participants will learn kinematics and dynamics of industrial manipulators, kinematics of mobile robots, trajectory planning, path planning and control and how to embed intelligence in robotic tasks. Therefore, the course provides basic understanding of mathematical methods for modeling and control of robot manipulators. Machine learning and artificial intelligence is an integral part in understanding of robotics, will be discussed. Hands-on training and practice sessions will help participants gain confidence on robotic concepts, their simulation and implementation including sessions on intelligent agents. A practical session of MATLAB based integration of hardware and software is also included for real world applications. Each day will have a focused theme on a particular area. The course will be useful for students, faculty of engineering and sciences and industry person who are interested in the learning robotics and intelligent systems
